Last updated: [insert date]
1. Introduction
This information notice is provided pursuant to Article 13 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (the "GDPR"), Article 122 of Italian Legislative Decree no. 196/2003 (the "Privacy Code") and in accordance with the "Guidelines on cookies and other tracking tools" adopted by the Italian Data Protection Authority (Garante per la protezione dei dati personali) on 10 June 2021.
This document describes the types of cookies and other tracking tools used by the Villa Incanto Tropea website (the "Website"), the purposes for which they are used, and how users can express, manage and change their preferences.
For information on the broader processing of personal data, please refer to the Website's Privacy Policy.
2. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that the websites visited send to the user's device (computer, tablet, smartphone), where they are stored and then sent back to the same websites on subsequent visits.
Cookies allow the Website to function correctly, to remember the user's preferences, to collect statistical information on browsing activity and, in some cases, to display personalised content.
In addition to cookies, there are other passive tracking tools (such as web beacons, pixels, device identifiers, fingerprinting) that perform similar functions. In this document, the term "cookies" is used, for the sake of simplicity, to also refer to such additional tools.
3. Types of cookies
Based on their purpose, cookies fall into the following categories.
3.1 Technical cookies (necessary)
These are cookies that are essential for the Website to function correctly and to provide the services requested by the user. They are divided into:
-
navigation or session cookies, which ensure normal browsing and use of the Website;
-
functional cookies, which allow users to browse according to a number of selected criteria (such as language) in order to improve the service provided;
-
first-party analytics cookies, when used directly by the Website operator to collect aggregated information on the number of visitors and how they use the Website.
Under the applicable legislation, technical cookies do not require the user's consent and are active from the first time the Website is accessed.
3.2 Third-party analytics cookies
These are cookies used to collect and analyse statistical information on the use of the Website. When provided by third parties and not anonymised in the manner required by the Data Protection Authority, such cookies require the user's prior consent.
3.3 Profiling and marketing cookies
These are cookies designed to create profiles of the user and to send advertising messages in line with the preferences shown while browsing. Given how intrusive such tools are, their use requires the user's prior, free, specific and informed consent.
4. Cookies used by the Website
The Website is created and hosted through the Wix.com Ltd. platform, which installs a number of technical cookies necessary to ensure the proper functioning, security and stability of the web pages.
The table below summarises the main technical cookies used by the platform. Cookie names and durations may be updated by the platform provider; the complete and up-to-date list is available in Wix's official documentation.

5. Third-party cookies and services
While browsing, users may receive cookies installed by websites or servers other than the one being visited ("third parties"), connected to elements or services present on the Website. The Website may rely, among others, on the following services:
-
Wix.com – platform for hosting and managing the Website. Privacy notice: https://www.wix.com/about/privacy
-
Google Maps (Google Ireland Ltd.) – display of interactive maps to locate the property. Privacy notice: https://policies.google.com/privacy
-
Google reCAPTCHA (Google Ireland Ltd.) – protection of contact and booking forms against automated submissions and spam. Privacy notice: https://policies.google.com/privacy
-
Google Fonts (Google Ireland Ltd.) – loading of the typefaces used on the Website. Privacy notice: https://policies.google.com/privacy
-
Google Analytics (Google Ireland Ltd.) – collection of aggregated statistics on Website usage (service active only with the user's consent). Privacy notice: https://policies.google.com/privacy
-
Booking and contact tools integrated into the Website, used to handle availability requests and bookings for the property.
Third-party cookies are installed and managed directly by the respective owners, to whom reference should be made for detailed information and for managing the relevant preferences. The Website operator has no access to or control over cookies installed by third parties.
Note for the Website operator: check which third-party services are actually active on the published pages (e.g. maps, forms, videos, social widgets, booking or payment systems) and remove from the list any services that are not used, adding any additional services.
6. Managing consent and preferences
The first time the Website is accessed, the user is shown a banner that allows them to:
-
accept all cookies;
-
reject non-necessary cookies;
-
select individual cookie categories and customise their choices.
Technical cookies are active regardless of consent, as they are necessary for the Website to function. Third-party analytics cookies and profiling cookies are installed only where the user has given consent.
The user may change their previously expressed preferences at any time, including by withdrawing consent, through the cookie management panel available on the Website [insert the access method, e.g. via the "Cookie settings" link in the footer].
Closing the banner using the dedicated reject command, or simply scrolling the page without interacting with the banner, results in the default settings being kept and therefore only technical cookies being installed.
7. Disabling cookies through the browser
Regardless of the choices made through the banner, users may also manage, restrict or disable cookies through their browser settings. Disabling technical cookies may, however, impair the proper use of certain Website features.
